5. Situating Tool

Situating tools are the tools which helps to situate learner's in an environment to experience the context and happenings. In simple it is to put somebody's view i real life situation. some of the examples are like; simulations( flight simulation, environment, driving etc). After knowing the importance of simulation in teaching and learning i feel like we as a future teacher, we most use those 21st century teaching skills using different types of creations, adventures and simulation in teaching any subject.



This video shows us how to locate different places using google map. i was totally new for this concept as my tutor taught me for the first time. So, in our school if we teach this concept to our students than i am sure that it will be more easier for our children to browse and locate any place they want to know. This will also helps them in finding longitude and latitude which indirectly helps them in finding correct time of different countries. For me i feel like it is very convenient and helpful for those travelers to first see the distance and time difference than only they can travel.


Next very important thing that i have learned is creating google classroom and using it with our students. I just heard it but never new how to create it and its uses but after sir took us through it, i learned it very well. Firstly we need to create our gmail account and there is a app called classroom. As a teacher i can wish my students, upload reading files and content related video in it and also assign them task like group assignments and quiz. From student side they can drop their comments and doubts and they can complete their assignments and upload in it. So, i felt like it is same like real classroom teaching and learning. in this way we can put our students in real life situation. They can do as like they are inside the classroom.


I was also new to Phat simulation. Since i taught class six science during my teaching practice without any idea on those simulation. i have hardly used ICT in teaching science. As our tutor took us through phat simulation from which we learned how to use ICT in teaching the concept of chemical reaction and its scale. i thought it would be turf making use of ICT while teaching but later as i tried there it proved me wrong because it is much more easier than managing all the chemicals and test tube which is also  very dangerous using with young children. Now,  i am sure that i can apply those ideas in teaching not only science but with all the subject. Those simulations can help teacher as well as the students in viewing in real life situation. in some schools i am sure that there will be shortage of chemical or there won't be appropriate place for the teacher to show practically but through using those simulation i am sure that i can teach them through projecting where everybody can see and foster their interest in learning.

Collaborative Tools

4. Collaborative tools (co-construction)
This idea is inspired by Vygotsky's social development theory. So in this digital world, ICT is used as collaborative tools in various forms to interact and share personal experiences in a group. When I was in high school, I don't we don't have any idea of using ICT as collaborative tools of learning and I hardly remember teacher making use of ICT inside the class. 

Through my personal experience I would say that making use of mobile phones had greater advantages in collaborative learning . It is because I mostly use WeChat and I also has more than 15 groups in which I really enjoy the way we discuss. We also have class WeChat group for each module in which we can discuss the solutions for the problems. All together can come up with affective solution. So, in a way I feel that it is important for a teacher to have WeChat group with their students so that it will be far convinent for the students to throw their doubts and all come up with fruitful results even during weekends.

With the help of WeChat I can able to construct many new ideas and knowledge through collaborative discussion.

One very good example of ICT as collaborative tool is 'creating good docs'.
Actually this idea was new for me but as we are asked by the tutor to join in google docs and plan a lesson. At first I was bit confused on how to use it but slowly I learned from my friends  and can easily do it. There we can communicate and at the same time we can also write. I was glad to know that we can also comment one each one's sentence and collaboratively we came with excellent lesson plan.

Therefore, through my personal experience I would suggest to all my friends to make use of those tools in daily life to enhance learning. At the same time it is also important for us as a teacher to teach those concepts to our students for better learning. Sometime it is important for us to let student discuss using those ICT tools so that it can help them in knowledge building because there will be different ideas from different individuals.

Constructive Tool

3. Constructive Tool:
Human learning is always constructed, that learners build new knowledge upon their existing knowledge. Similarly, through my personal experience I found that constructive tools are very important for a teacher to make our students learn better. For example in PowerPoint presentation if that teacher has used attractive images, animation and graphics than it is sure that students can also share their interest in learning. At the same time it also helps in knowledge building.

Some of the constructive tools that I am using are; Firstly, PowerPoint presentation. Sometime I used to prepare my lesson in the form of PowerPoint presentation with a aim that learning will be more. I used to insert some relevant images, maps, diagram, videos and graphics so thinking that they will learn better. At the end of my lesson it helped me in fulfilling my dreams because are able to perform better in test and exams. At the same time I learned a lot while creating effective presentation.

Next example is on creating advertisement through simulation. As we are asked by module tutor to prepare advertisement describing our own village. While in process of creation, I had bitter experience while inserting text and and recording sounds. Infect I enjoyed a lot and it helped me in knowledge building because I learned how to insert sounds from this activity. Therefore, as a teacher if we teach our children through simulation than it helps them a lot in understanding the concept and also it is important to teach the concept on how to create advertisement in the form of simulation.

Second example could be creating video tutorial. As we are asked by our tutor to create video tutorial using camtesia. Before I start my work I thought I can do it without any problems with the knowledge I had. As I started to create video tutorial there In stuck and even asked help from friends. Finally I have completed it and come to know that it's bit challenging but has great potential in teaching field. Later I can easily use that concept in other module and now I am sure that I can make use of it in schools as well. In schools if we teach through the uses of those tools than I am sure that students can construct very new ideas and concepts on their previous knowledge. In this way ICT can be used in this form of constructive tools.

2. Communicative Tool

Today this tool is becoming very important for having active communication and making things happen within a short period of time. It also helps everyone of us to communicate with our friends, family, relatives and students.

Some of the important communicative tool I came across so far are;
1. Zoom video conference. This is helpful especially for distance learning. All most all of my module tutor are using this app for communication. I personally felt that this is helpful to me because we get chance to talk with our tutor like in the class and also we can see everyone's face in real. At first it's bit difficult for me to catch up with the steps but as I used it repeatedly, I can easily go alonge with it. I also found that it is helpful when it comes to solve each ones doubt by putting it in the middle. So, I found it very affective in teaching and l



Another good example of communicative tool is WeChat. These days most of the people prefer WeChat instead Facebook or Twitter etc.. I could see older people easily using WeChat for communication. Those uneducated people who can't read and write are passing information to their friends through voice mail. They just record voice and send.

Similarly, for me it's almost 10 years of using wechat and I found it very affective for one to one communication and for many. WeChat can be use to chat individually or we can also add people in a group and have communication where by we can send voice message, text, videos, and many other information. Today I have created more than ten WeChat group to reach information at right time to the right person. It can also help us to save time because in a group of 30 members we can send only once.




Those two images are the examples of WeChat that I am making use of it. I am enjoying a lot and able to have easy and immediate communication with my teachers, friends, family and relatives.

Informative Tool

Information and communication Technology consists of various tools and systems that can be exploited by capable and creative teachers to improve teaching and learning situations.


1. Informative Tool
Information tools are applications that provide large amount of information in various formats such as text,graphics,sound or video. 




These days people can make use of different ICT tools for self information and to inform others. Similarly, I most of the time make use of simple tool such as voice recorder and video recorder apps to keep record and for the information. I do just record somebody's vioce or their acting to inform somebody later and it will also work as a proof. I also record something interesting and send it to my friends and family so that they can listen and watch as a information. Therefore, we as a teacher can also use this app to inform our students. We can inform them in the form of voice recording the instructions or a procedure for the activity.


This is the app that I feel is interesting at the same time helpful especially for a teacher to have distance learning.


Second example could be preparing PowerPoint presentation. It helps audience to capture new information from the presentation slide and also it will inform to those who just read from a distance. So PowerPoint presentation can store collective information and  I think it is very important for us as a teacher to teach our the concepts and try to make use of it everyday.



This is the example of PowerPoint presentation. In this case we are asked by our tutor to collect information on 'women playing khuru in Bhutan'. Now this presentation becomes the source of information for those who read. So, PowerPoint presentation act as a active informative tool especially in schools and colleges.

For me other very common example of informative tool could be Facebook. I love to use Facebook not for likes and comments but mainly for the information. We can find worldwide updated information daily and helps in updating our own knowledge. Therefore, I urge you all to create facebook account to update yourself. At the same time it is important for a teacher to advise their students about the benefits and advantages.
